When you receive your kit containing all of the parts, unbox the carton and check the list of content if each and every part is present. Check them for any damaged parts that might have occurred during shipping. If any of the parts are damaged, inform the company and they should be able to provide you with a replacement. Airplane Covering

Your airplane might have been subjected to extreme temperatures after it left the factory floor so you should always proceed with utmost care. It will also come in very handy if you know the materials of the covering. You will already have known the right temperature to set your iron. Otherwise, you should then start with a low temperature and gradually increase it.

Airplane Manual

All models of a remote controlled airplane come with a manual to guide you through the basics of the plane. Read the provided manual along with the product very carefully. This will help you get to know the finer points of the plane and be fully aware of all the components and parts, as well as the precautions you need to take. Once you are done, take your time to put the pieces together and have fun as you learn and see the complete pieces come together. Don’t try to hurry because you are likely to make a mistake.

Balance

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of the assembly is to get the balancing correctly. Start with the center of gravity of the plane. Place all the parts including the heavy radio parts, battery, and the engine in a manner so that your center of gravity falls in the right place as directed by the manufacturer. Take good care to balance the plane laterally as well; an unbalanced plane will result in rolling and crashes.

Gluing

Use glue that is not melted. If not, go for the one that’s suggested by the manufacturer or you can use a CA adhesive. Apply the glue into the joints of the airplane.

Wing Panels

Keep the plastic covering or the wrap that wings came with on the wings. Place the wings in the spot and use a slow drying epoxy to fix the wings. Keep the wings in place using tape until the adhesive has dried. The wrapper keeps the wings clean from the adhesive. After drying it, wipe the extra glue with alcohol.

Engine and Cowl

If your cowl has self-attaching screws, use CA adhesive in the holes of the cowl before tightening the screws. This will ensure a long life to the threads of the screw.

Make sure that you take your time when you are assembling your plane with accuracy and precision. Although most of the parts are machine made with attention to detail in the factory, you will need to take care when assembling it as well.
